Truffle Trouble

Truffle Trouble

It is always a pleasure to spend time with Bailey and the gang in Harvest, Ohio. In Truffle Trouble, Bailey and Aiden are finally getting married! While the wedding goes off without a hitch, the reception is marred by finding a dead vintner in the kitchen. Not to mention a mischievous pig named Jethro who wants first dibs on the gorgeous wedding cake.

Unfortunately, the honeymoon is on hold until the murderer is found. When Detective Aiden’s lead suspect is the granddaughter of Bailey’s best friend, Bailey must find the real killer before a terrible miscarriage of justice is done. The victim had plenty of haters making for a wide suspect pool. Is Bailey up for the challenge all while juggling new married life and running a wine tasting on the village square?

Luckily, I read this series for the characters and the setting. The murderer’s motive is not really revealed until just before Bailey’s unmasking of the killer. So this is not a good choice for readers looking to play armchair detectives. However, the charm of the characters, and the antics of both Jethro and the always pushy village publicist, Margot, make Truffle Trouble an enjoyable read. 4 stars!
