Hayley and Nathan are finally off on their honeymoon in Scotland. Unfortunately, Nathan’s mother and one elderly neighbor have invited themselves along. A man is murdered and one of the “guests” is suspected of the crime. Hayley, her mother-in-law, and her neighbor decide to find the killer in A Scone of Contention.

I can’t imagine why Hayley is so even tempered about her in-laws ruining her honeymoon. I pray both she and Nathan have more vacation time from work. Hopefully, they will learn their lesson and skulk away without telling anyone of their plans.

As usual in this series, I liked seeing the characters move forward with their lives. The Scottish setting was a nice change from Key West in Florida. The murder mystery was relatively easy to solve leaving the reader time to solve several subplotted mysteries. A Scone of Contention is a culinary cozy mystery that has something for everyone: clean romance, Scotland, high family (in-law) drama, yummy recipes and several mysteries to solve. 4 stars!
