Cross and Sampson

Cross and Sampson

Washington D.C. detective John Sampson and former detective Alex Cross are working two separate cases in Cross and Sampson, the latest thriller in this long running best selling series.

Alex’s son, Damon, is missing from his graduate studies at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Alex and his wife Bree blast into town trying to find Damon and his missing girlfriend. Could Damon’s activism have resulted in his disappearance? Will Alex find him alive? With family tragedy suffusing this series, anything is possible.

In the meantime, Sampson is investigating a serial bomber in our nation’s capital. With the help of a multi-agency task force, can John find the killer before he kills again?

As always, these Cross books are excellent. Having two cases at once in alternating short chapters escalates the suspense. Cross and Sampson reminds me why I loved James Patterson’s writing style before he started putting his name on a bunch of other writers’ books. Great characters, non-stop action and a clever puzzle, or two. This book is highly recommended for those looking for an exciting police procedural. 5 stars and a favorite!

Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown & Company for providing me with an advanced review copy.
