I love the premise and execution of this wild mix of The Hunger Games, Ready Player One, and War of the Worlds. I wanted, no needed, Meghan and her three young kids to survive. However, the end of this book just stopped. Like this was a bigger book ripped into two parts at a random location. After finishing this book I looked it up and there are five books in this series. Luckily, I already have book 2 as an advanced review copy ahead of its November 10 2026 pub date. All the other books will be published by summer of 2027 so we don’t have long to wait.
If you love alien vs humans science fiction, don’t miss Time to Play. It is highly recommended.
