New Year’s Eve has passed and even the hangover is gone. You want to set a resolution for a dry January. But sodas, tea and fruit drinks just don’t seem festive enough for dinner. No problem. Welcome to the New Mocktails Bible, where the drinks are all beautiful and tasty while also being alcohol free.
From instructions to make fruit shrubs to sour mix, this book has tasty moneysaving ways to create homemade mixers as well as mocktails. I am just thinking how much money I will save next summer on store-bought margarita and daiquiri mixes.
The book begins with some basic recipes for common mixers, a glossary and a list of barkeep tools. The next chapter contains recipes using hard-to-find, and I expect expensive, alcohol substitutes. However, the remaining pages contain some delicious sounding recipes using commonly found ingredients—many used in surprising ways.
The New Mocktails Bible is a wonderful resource for both non-drinkers and drinkers. 5 stars!
Thanks to Fox Chapel and NetGalley for a digital review copy of the book.
