Death at the Door

Death at the Door

In Death at the Door, twenty-something Ruby has recently moved to Boston. Unfortunately, her apartment has the ghost of a recent suicide, or was it murder, named Cordelia, living there too. Luckily, they become best friends even though their communication method, a magnetic alphabet on the fridge, is difficult at best.

The duo have already solved one murder together so it’s no surprise that they are soon embroiled in another. A delivery man from a local deli has died in Ruby’s office bathroom. The police think it is just another overdose. The girls think it is murder. And so begins another enthralling cozy paranormal mystery.

Ruby and Cordelia make a great team. Chapters alternate their voices so we get both of their perspectives. Some of Cordelia’s background is revealed during this book too. The mystery was good with plenty of suspects and red herrings to lead the reader astray. Overall, Death at the Door is a good choice if you enjoy a cozy mystery with just a bit of non-scary paranormal elements. 4 stars!
