It’s always a great day when I get to drop in on the antics in Harvest, Ohio. Millie is an Amish matchmaker and widow. Lois is her non-Amish purple haired multi-divorcee longtime best friend. In Dating Can Be Deadly, Millie puts aside her matchmaking to enter her latest quilt in the county fair. Her nephew is also showing her two mischievous goats. Of course, Millie and Lois find a dead body in the quilt barn leading them to begin their favorite hobby—sleuthing.
I find this series and its companion series, The Amish Candy Shop mysteries, to always be fun and relaxing reads. I would have liked a bit more of Jethro, the celebrity potbellied pig, in this entry. However, the two goats gave me a few chuckles. Whether you are a longtime fan of this series or just looking for a family friendly gently humorous mystery, you can’t go wrong with Dating Can Be Deadly. 5 stars!
