Bad Things Happened in This Room is a weird fevered dream of a book. It is, perhaps, the best first person depiction of mental illness that I have ever read.
That, of course, takes it down a rather unnerving and depressing path. Is our heroine just a victim of her own mind or is her husband also victimizing her? What terrible secret do they both share?
This book is psychological horror at its best. However, Bad Things Happened in This Room is not for everyone. Definitely check out the trigger warnings before reading and take them seriously. Everything within this book is intense. Mega intense. 5 stars!
