Camden is through with his family. For ten years, he has been living the independent life of an English teacher with his wife Jules, and he likes it that way. However, when his uncle dies, he feels compelled to return to the family’s North Carolina mansion. You see his family is rich with a capital R. Like own the entire town rich. Jules is enchanted. Why would Camden give all of this up? She will see that he will get what they deserve. But the family still has a few tricks up its sleeve in The Heiress.

If you are looking for a challenging cat and mouse plot, look elsewhere. It is apparent who the players are early in this book. However, if you just want to sit back and read about how the rich are different, get ready for the funhouse ride that is The Heiress. 4 stars!
