My Review
Cassie and Lacy are orphaned sisters who have a special talent. They are bibliomancers, able to tell the future through books. They are also the owners of Books by Bequest, a bookstore within their lighthouse home on the Oregon coast.
One day, nineteen-year-old Cassie has had enough. She leaves her family behind and sets out for North Carolina. In her new residence, a neighbor is found dead and a young woman is missing. How can Cassie not use her gift (or possibly her curse) to find out what happened?
The Secret on Rum Runner’s Lane hits all the cozy mystery notes. The setting is enchanting with realistic characters you can root for. The mystery is perfectly solvable based on the clues hidden within the text. The paranormal aspect is an original idea. I also enjoyed the frequent quotes about the benefits of reading. 4 stars!
Thanks to the author and Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

The Lane women are bibliomancers, but Cassie sees her divination not as a gift, but as a curse–one from which she desperately wants to escape. It turns out, though, that running from her fate isn’t as easy as she thought it would be. When a woman goes missing, and a neighbor turns up dead, Cassie turns to the books she’s always avoided to help her find the truth.
