The Barn Identity

The Barn Identity

House flipper Whitney is reading a book in the loft of a new project when an investigative reporter is killed in the barn below. Amateur detective Whitney feels obligated to investigate right along with the police in The Barn Identity, the eighth book in the House-Flipper cozy mystery series.

This book seemed much slower paced than the previous entries. There also was a lot of filler, about civil war history and veganism, that seemed only there to reach a publisher’s page quota.

Overall, I found this book to be the least satisfying entry in the series. However, fans of the series, like me, will still want to read The Barn Identity for the always enjoyable cat chapters and the excitement surrounding Whitney’s pregnancy. 3 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for providing me with an advanced review copy.
