Sharp Force

Sharp Force

A serial killer uses Sharp Force to kill his victims on major holidays. But first he terrorizes them with a ghostly vision that seemingly can pass through walls without triggering alarms.

It’s Christmas Eve. Forensic pathologist Kay Scarpetta is just finishing up an autopsy on a man found floating in a river after a week. She is ready for her two week trip to Europe with her husband beginning the next day.

Her best friend and investigator, Marino is investigating the serial killer’s latest victim, a reporter, of the ghostly visitor. Is she next for death?

Meanwhile, another specialist in Scarpetta’s office has found a relatively new set of bones among the old ones dug up when moving a psychiatric hospital’s cemetery. The body was evidently injured severely before her death. Was she a patient at the hospital? Or was she just dropped off there to conceal her death?

The mysteries are compelling. However, it is the complex relationships between the characters that keeps me coming back to this series. Sharp Force is the 29th book in this series but feels just as fresh as the first one. It also can easily be read as a standalone. But beware, you may be hooked and want to read all the previous books too. 5 stars!

Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing me with an advanced review copy.
