I love the family and friends populating the Meg Langslow cozy mystery series. Reading the two new books published each year is usually a highlight for me. While Probable Caws does have the whole gang involved in horse rescuing, the mystery is kind of a miss.
There weren’t enough red herrings so it was easy to determine the murderer’s identity. All of the horse info was not as interesting as I expected either (though I loved the crow knowledge I gained). The author’s trademark wit was mostly absent as well.
Overall, Probable Caws is best for long time series fans rather than readers just starting this series. Almost all of the other entries are better. A disappointed 3 stars.
Thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for providing me with an advanced review copy.
