Childhood bffs Zoe, Stef and Jade are backpacking along a rural trail listening to a podcast in Backstabbers. The podcast describes the still uncaught serial killer who mysteriously stopped rampaging along the same trail many years ago. Little do they know their friendships and very lives will be soon tested.
The women definitely resemble the plastics from Mean Girls. Zoe is always in charge. Stef blindly follows along. And Jade is the timid one who reluctantly follows along with Zoe’s plans.
Backstabbers will definitely have you yelling, hopefully only in your head, at the characters for their stupid decisions. However, the compelling plot will keep you reading long past your bedtime. If you like women in jeopardy tales, this book should be on your reading list. 4 stars!
