A Matter of Course

A Matter of Course

A poor house painter finds a stash of money, quits his job, and boards an elevated train. When he accidentally trips and falls, the voices within his head become unbearable and he lashes out. How these actions impact everyone in the train car is the subject of A Matter of Course, a heartfelt look into people’s real stories that lie beneath their superficial facades.

The initial scenes in this book are exciting. But then the pacing slows down considerably. The author begins to explore the thoughts and feelings of the train car passengers. If you enjoy character-driven fiction, I believe you will enjoy A Matter of Course. It even has a little romance thrown in. 3 stars.

Thanks to author and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
