In Stolen in Death, Eve is a detective investigating a murder that happened during a robbery. Eve’s husband is familiar with one of the stolen jewelry items, a priceless necklace. It seems he stole it decades ago before he became a posh millionaire.
I’ve only read a few books in this In Death series. The sheer volume of characters made the beginning rather frustrating. Stolen in Death is probably not a good book to read as a standalone. The pacing in the first half was slowed substantially by the exhaustive and somewhat repetitive sections about how to be a thief. However, I still enjoyed this near future police procedural. 4 stars!
