Chain Reaction

Chain Reaction

Former military policeman and loner Jack Reacher reconnects with an old Army buddy in Chain Reaction, the 31st book in the thriller series.

Reacher is recruited by Susan Turner, now a One Star General in charge of a shadowy Pentagon group. She needs someone with no connection to her agency to find out what happened to her investigator at a remote biker bar in Colorado. Does she have a leak inside her group? What exactly did the investigator find that caused his death? Reacher and Susan must hunt the killers within the offices of a Silicon Valley startup and at a huge isolated data center and power grid in Colorado. Can they find the killers before the killers find them?

Chain Reaction is an exhilarating run through the new AI tech and how it can be manipulated by bad actors. While there is some jargon included, it is explained as Reacher asks, “like you’re teaching Hindi to a beagle.” The action is fast and furious. The conclusion is clever. What more could you want in a thriller? Don’t miss it! 5 stars and a favorite!
