My Review
A Body in Boston is the latest cozy mystery series based on the popular television series featuring Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher. The characters here speak and act just like their television counterparts. Even down to Doctor Seth’s Maine Ayuhs. Other familiar people appear too like noir detective Harry McGraw.
There are two mysteries within the plot. Harry involves Seth in a new medical drug blackmail case he is working on. Jessica is called on to protect a young woman by finding the real killer of her boyfriend. For one of the mysteries, the chance to use your armchair detective skills is limited by the discovery of the motive only after the killer reveal. The other mystery is relatively easy to solve.
However, A Body in Boston provides other benefits to the reader. It acts as a great travelogue to the Boston area. It has visits to the famous Boston Library, a real tea party reenactment, an Irish pub, and even a high tea in a Tea Room. Plus, it is always fun to hang out with the Murder She Wrote gang.
Overall, A Body in Boston is a good addition to the long running cozy mystery series, especially for fans of the show. 4 stars!

Jessica Fletcher has dinner with her old pal Harry McGraw and gets pulled into a puzzling murder case.
Invited to deliver a lecture at the Boston Public Library, Jessica Fletcher excitedly makes plans to see local friends. Naturally that includes dinner at Gilhooley’s with PI Harry McGraw. Harry excitedly talks about his latest client, the CEO of Cure All Pharmaceuticals, who’s received anonymous blackmail demands and wants Harry to identify the culprit. Cookie, Gilhooley’s longtime bartender, also has something he wants to tell Jessica: he asked Harry to investigate his daughter Aileen’s boyfriend, who Cookie thinks is too slick by half, but now Harry is too wrapped up in this new case. While Jessica wonders how best to approach Aileen, the young woman stumbles into Gilhooley’s covered in blood. She just discovered her boyfriend’s corpse — and quickly becomes the chief suspect in his murder!
