The Thursday Murder Club

The Thursday Murder Club

Seniors Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, and Ron are The Thursday Murder Club. They meet weekly in their senior center and try to solve cold cases from former member and police inspector Penny’s files. Penny, unfortunately, is living in a nursing home with dementia so can no longer assist.

When local builder, Tony, is bludgeoned to death, the club is excited to have a current case to work on. They should be careful what they wish for…

I was expecting a cozy mystery because of the setting and lead characters’ ages. However, this book is more like an Agatha Raisin and Miss Marple mashup. The mystery is surprisingly complicated and challenging to solve. The conclusion has a mighty twist that I didn’t see coming. The Thursday Murder Club is recommended for classic mystery readers. 4 stars!
