Bad Motherfucker

Bad Motherfucker

Samuel L. Jackson is one Bad Motherfucker—especially in Pulp Fiction, my favorite Jackson movie. However, I knew nothing about his life outside of film before reading this book.

Beginning with his birth and concluding in 2021, this book tells Jackson’s story. However, the majority of the book describes every Jackson film longer than 55 minutes. The descriptions include rating stars for both the movie itself and Jackson’s performance within it. It also indicates the character he plays, the minutes until he shows up and the expletives within the movie.

I found the descriptions to be the most interesting part of the book. The author’s insights on movies I have seen were spot on. Of the 140 movies and television specials included, I found several that I will seek out including Dead Man Out, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Hard Eight, Formula 51, and Unicorn Store. Those are not necessarily Jackson’s best films. They are the best films I haven’t seen yet. You are sure to find some unknown gems in Bad Motherfucker too. 5 stars!

Thanks to Hachette Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
